Could you share your planning experience?
Hello! At the end of January, I started checking my female body to plan a pregnancy. I live in the Moscow region, and it didn’t seem possible for me to travel to Moscow then, so I found an HPV gynaecologist at a local paid test clinic (yes, yes, you can probably already guess what will happen next)).
In general, the gynaecologist did a bunch of examinations for me, which, of course, cost me a pretty penny (well, stupid, yes); in the end, she rolled out a large list of HPV diagnoses test issues for me, such as a lack of various vitamins, multipolar ovaries, erosion, a cyst on the ovary (they checked an additional ultrasound, she hormonal, related to the cycle, so everything is ok); the microflora is not very good, and so on, but in fact, overall there is nothing serious.
She prescribed me cavitation, a bunch of vitamins, aciclovir (although my cycle is stable up to the minute, pah), and all sorts of suppositories; oh my God, I didn’t take anything. During repeated exams, something got worse and worse for me; some E. coli came out, so let’s treat it now. The smear is even worse afterwards. And, of course, the money flows and flows… in general, I couldn’t stand it; I thought that I was just being scammed out of money, and based on recommendations, I went to another paid clinic in the city to see another doctor.
Second Opinion and Diagnosis Reassessment
She said that it was all bullshit, that they were taking money out of me, my results were good, these diagnoses were not scary in terms of planning children, she gave me a colposcopy and saw a small papilloma there (by the way, the result was all negative). In general, as a result of the microflora, she said to forget and forget about it, like they treated it for me, and prescribed suppositories, drinking folic acid, getting checked for antibodies to rubella and measles (she had chickenpox) and coming back in a month to examine the condition of the papillomas, you may have to remove and Take it for a biopsy just in case.
Girls, why am I all this – you are all already wise here with experience, so I tried to describe everything in detail… mom says, forget it, relax and plan for the child calmly; acquaintances who have given birth and are pregnant recommend going to a residential complex under compulsory HPV medical insurance and getting checked there (but make an appointment there 2 weeks in advance, kochmarr), they say free doctors are not so interested in extracting money .. and now I’m completely confused ((as if the deeper I dig, the more I bury myself in all this and don’t understand whether it is necessary or not.
And there are no gynaecologist friends to consult with or register with them… it’s already scary that there will be deception again. In general, dear readers, please share your experience 🙏🏻 how deep should you go into planning? Perhaps you can recommend a good residential complex. I’m now assigned to residential complex 3 on Izmailovskoye Highway; there seem to be a lot of good reviews there, but it’s impossible to sign up.. thank you all in advance for your time!

I’m probably overthinking things, and I have a reason to (at least in my mind), but I’d like second opinions from anyone in the know. I went in for my annual “well woman” exam with a new doctor since I’m new to the area. Approximately one year ago, I had my last test, had zero problems, and was never notified of any issues. My exam was horrible. I’ve never had it happen before, but I was in horrible pain. Even when she stopped what she was doing, the speculum was pinching horribly, and I told her so. She switched to a different one, but that stopped only the pinching, not the horrible pain . She worked as fast as possible and told me nothing to worry about. I am still trying to understand why it was like that. There had never been pain before.
Post-Exam Findings
Discomfort, sure. This felt like she was opening my cervix, not just scraping it for samples. Is that normal? She told me nothing to worry about, but they would run bacterial and Pap smear. I got a call that the bacterial result returned positive and that there was nothing to worry about. It was a super common bacterial infection; take the antibiotics, and it would be no problem.
A few days later, I got another call. I honestly don’t know if my prior OB/GYN had ever tested for HPV or not, but my new one did. Before she told me anything, she asked if I had ever had an abnormal Pap smear. I had not. So she told me that my Pap was normal, but my result was positive. She said there was nothing to do, wait a year and check again. Now, I know it causes cancer. I also read that it mostly clears up within 2 years.
I had a friend go from normal pap to abnormal pap in one year and died 10 months later. She was 30. This is why I’m overthinking things. It doesn’t seem right to sit around waiting.

I just had the same thing (well, I didn’t have pain during the swab; that is VERY unusual, and it only takes a few seconds, so I don’t know why the OP’s took so long. Maybe the infection made the tissue more tender) I did have Candida a few months ago…took an agonisingly long time to clear up because I got the test on a Saturday and didn’t get the Rx until Monday. Anyhoo Just got a positive test, a low-risk HPV result from my GP, and I am being sent to a gynaecologist. It seems silly. Just wait a year? WTH? There isn’t anything you can tell me to do other than wait. And why didn’t I get a vaccine 5 years ago when my daughter did? Just seems like a haphazard care plan.
