What is the HIV blood test home kit?

HIV is a virus that humans can have that destroys the organism’s immune system. It attacks the directly immune system, gradually destroying the defence system in a body, which leads to all the health complications that come after.

How can this virus be transmitted?

The bad news is that HIV can be in the blood (including the menstrual blood periods), sperm, vaginal secretions and maternal milk, but it can be in any other liquids that are present in our bodies.

The good news is that the virus can be transmitted only from an infected person if the other person gets in contact with any of the liquids mentioned above.

Even if the virus is present in the urine, saliva, tears and sweat, the level here is too low to be infectious.

What is included in the package?

  • Lancets
  • Plasters
  • Collection tube
  • Alcohol wipes
  • Safety bag
  • Return bag
  • Prepaid label
  • Instructions for use

How long do I have to wait for the results?

The usual turnaround time for this test is 1-3 working days. Usually 1 day.

Please take your sample to Royal Mail from Monday to Thursday to avoid any Royal Mail delays.

This is very important as any waiting time is bad for your sample.

The sample specimen must arrive at our Laboratory in good condition; if not, the sample must be disposed of.

What is the Scientific Data from Instrument and Reagent Supplier?

Technology Method:

Fluorescence quantitative immunoassay

Limit of Detection:

≤ 1.00 S/CO

Precision:

The within-assay CV is ≤ 10%. The between-assay CV is ≤ 15%.

Measuring Range:

1.0~1000.0 S/CO

Validation-Active Information:

EQA Schemes: Yes

Interlaboratory validations

  • Periodic according to validation schedule.
  • Event-triggered- Qc/Calibration/New materials/Batch

Internal Cross-Instrument Comparisons

  • N/A

Precision:

The precision relies on the within-assay coefficient of variations and the between-assay coefficient. The within-assay coefficient of variations is the variance of the result value if the same test was analysed again. The between assay coefficient is the variance of the result value if the same sample was reprocessed from the beginning again.

Positive results:

Samples with concentrations that are greater than or equal to 1.00 S/CO are considered positive.

Negative results:

Samples with concentrations that are less than 1.00 S/CO are considered negative.
