Lipase
What is it?
During digestion, the pancreas generates it. This enzyme aids in the digestion of lipids in the intestines. It can diffuse into the bloodstream as a result of inflammation or injury to the pancreas.
A blood test, commonly known as a serum test, can determine whether or not levels are elevated. High amounts could signal a pancreas disease or another ailment. At the same time as the blood test, you may need to evaluate the levels of another enzyme called amylase. This can provide additional information that can aid in the diagnosis of a pancreas issue.

How long do results take?
The target turnaround time for test results is 1-3 working days of receiving in the laboratory. The turnaround time is a guide only and will sometimes depend upon assay run schedules.
Please take your test on a Monday to Thursday to avoid delivery delays at the lab.
