Also, some customers may not be aware that there are many procedures that we are trained to consider to cause a rerun which can delay a result: 1 of them for example: in a batch, if they are all Negative.
Usually there would be 10-40% positive in a batch run in labs. We have to by our own standards of quality control to action suspicious patterns as a re-run. As it’s unusual to have some patterns of results. HPV virus is tricky and nasty so we need to think smart about it.
Also for example if all are positive. And for example if 3 are positive next to each other. Furthermore, for example if a sample is inconclusive. We will rerun it and if it’s inconclusive 2 x we will request another sample. Inclusive is the type of problem that we also work to avoid.
We dont want inconclusive
If labs issue inconclusive results, we think it’s a waste of money for the customer and for us so we prefer to run it again. HPVG customers are often regular customers too. So we want to win customers to us for regular repeat business. HPVG people often need to get retested at least 1 x per year. So of course, we really want to work hard to create a long term relationship.
We want regular customers so we don’t want to send inconclusive reports. Even if a customer it’s positive for 1 of the 21 variants they can gain variants over time and may need regular testing.
We have seen situations increasingly where customers have 5 or even 7 of them. It’s actually fairly common to have 2-3 variants.
Treatment is super important in many cases. And treatment is costly in terms of a time commitment for people and financial costs.
So people need to know regularly their situation.

Also, actually we changed the website terms for sample time frames to 1-7 working days. But 1 day is still an option if someone wants the jump the queue fee of £50. That fee covers the extra cost of running a sample either on its own or in a small batch.

We are already the cheapest in the uk by far. And we want to maintain that to make the test affordable. A 21 Variant test like ours is actually far more expensive in the market.
We believe a price of £150 to £400 for a 21 Variant Report, makes the healthcare information less accessible to people. And this HPV test is so important .. we are trying hard to keep costs low. So therefore we have procedures to control costs and quality.
HPVG Virus Information must be accessible to the Public.
Keeping prices low means we need rules to control quality and situations.
But just because the price is low does not mean that we are slower than the competition. Most of our competitors take 5-10 working days. We are 1-7 working days.
We believe in a not for profit strategy for this HPV test. You can see that in the pricing. No one else is putting the patient as the priority, as much as we do when it comes to sacrificing profit.

A further note on refunds and free replacement kits:
Refunds are ok.
We have a policy about it. Replacement kits you get 1 for free in most situations. Thereafter its £9.50 for an extra kit. We think that is outstanding.
Generic packaged Home Test Kit:
We provide them for £9.50 plus delivery. Because we try to be cost effective. That means our standard kit is our own in-house generic white label kit.
We cant do it cheaper.
If you want to upgrade to a nice box we are bringing that option for an additional £50.
